Ford Galaxy Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The Ford Galaxy is a spacious family vehicle for all occasions that can seat up to 7 in comfort.
Since 1995, the Ford Galaxy has been the outstanding vehicle of choice in the 7-seater family car corner of the market. Hugely spacious and practical with special attention paid to the needs of passengers as well as the driver, the Ford Galaxy is understandably very popular with Synergy customers who’ve a large family and also with business users who need to carry around passengers.
The original Galaxy was actually developed in partnership with Volkswagen, but since the 3rd generation of Galaxy launched in 2006, it has been a solely Ford affair. 2015 saw the launch of the 4th and current generation of the Galaxy and it is decisive confirmation that despite the rise of SUVs, a spacious 7-seat MPV is still desirable.
Powering the Ford Galaxy is a choice of one diesel and two petrol engines, with the diesel coming in 4 separate power outputs – 119bhp, 148bhp, 178bhp and a bi-turbo version producing 207bhp. The diesel engine is a 2.0-litre turbocharged 4-cylinder and is by far the more popular engine choice for the Galaxy as its strong pulling potential helps move a loaded Galaxy with greater ease. For petrol users, the choice lies between a 148bhp 1.5-litre Ecoboost or the far more powerful 237bhp 2.0-litre version, with the latter only being available with Ford’s ‘Powershift’ automatic transmission. All engines come with a 6-speed manual as standard. All-wheel drive is available on some models.
Currently the Galaxy is available in two trim levels – Zetec and Titanium – and both are very well kitted out. Zetec models get Ford’s SYNC 3 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and voice control, power folding door mirrors, dual zone climate control, push-button start, Ford’s ‘MyKey’ system, and ISOFIX attachments for child seats across the 2nd row. Meanwhile, top-spec Titanium models get navigation with full European mapping data, rear privacy glass, LED running lights, automatic headlights and windscreen wipers, keyless entry, lane-keep assist, traffic sign recognition and a useful cruise control system with an active speed limiter. With the second and third row of seats folded down flat, the Galaxy also has a huge load potential of 2,339-litres.
Practical, comfortable, good to drive and great value for money, the Ford Galaxy is one of the definitive family cars. For a car that’s similar but looks sportier, check out its sibling the Ford S-Max.
