Jaguar XE Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
Built to compete in one of the toughest areas of the car market, the XE had to be exceptional – and it is.
When a car manufacturer is developing a new car, there’s an awful lot of pressure on the entire team behind it to get it right. Huge amounts of money are invested in the development of new models and making sure a return on that investment is absolutely vital. A company can blossom or wither on the success of a new model.
Imagine then the pressure at Jaguar when its new XE compact saloon was being developed, a car that had to go up against some of the very best cars in its class, some of the most famous, desirable and accomplished cars in the world – the Audi A4, BMW 3-series, and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Jaguar put together a special recipe to make sure that the XE succeeded. The construction of the XE makes extensive use of aluminium, which keeps the overall weight low and its special suspension design helps it corner and move with exceptional agility, all while remaining comfortable at the same time. The XE not only competes with the BMW 3-series for handling, it makes you seriously consider the fact that it might be better. In our recent road test, the XE seriously impressed us.
The BMW has better engines though, right? Well, no, actually. Jaguar spent a lot of budget on producing its excellent new engines it calls ‘Ingenium’. These lightweight, efficient yet powerful turbo petrol and diesel engines can compete with just about anything in their class, certainly improving up on Mercedes-Benz’s diesel units in terms of refinement and performance.
Inside and out the XE is an elegant, smartly dressed machine. Its design has more in common with the Audi A4 – smart, unassuming – than it does with the Mercedes-Benz C-Class which has more curves and goes down a path of elegance. The cabin is put together with high quality materials and the distinctive ‘Riva Line’ across the top of the dashboard and doors is a really nice design touch. Naturally, the XE is packed with the latest tech – climate control, cruise control, sat nav, and a host of other equipment depending on your spec.
In the end, you have to say Jaguar did an exceptional job with the XE. It’s one of the finest vehicles in its class and can easily stand up to any of the major established rivals in this segment.
