Engine & performance
The diesel Berlingo Small Van uses a 1.5-litre BlueHDi engine in two outputs: 100bhp with a six-speed manual gearbox, or 130bhp with an eight-speed automatic. The 100bhp version delivers up to 250Nm of torque, while the 130bhp version delivers up to 300Nm.
The fully electric e-Berlingo Small Van uses a 136bhp motor and a 52kWh battery, giving a WLTP combined range of up to 213 miles. 100kW DC rapid charging takes the battery from 0 to 80% in around 30 minutes. A 7.4kW home wallbox charges the van fully in around 6 hours 43 minutes.
Payload tops out at 982kg on the M-length diesel Small Van. The XL diesel version carries up to 939kg with the 100bhp manual engine, or 927kg with the 130bhp automatic. Braked towing capacity reaches up to 1,050kg on the XL diesel with the 100bhp manual engine, while other standard-payload diesel versions are rated to tow up to 1,000kg. The electric e-Berlingo Small Van is rated to tow up to 750kg.
Exterior features
The Berlingo Small Van features Citroen's oval logo and a three-segment light signature at the front. Diesel versions come with Eco LED headlights as standard, while electric e-Berlingo Small Van versions use halogen headlamps with integrated daytime running lights.
The van is available in two body lengths, M and XL. The M offers up to 3.3m3 of load volume as standard, rising to 3.8m3 with the EXTENSO seat folded. The XL offers up to 3.9m3 as standard, rising to 4.4m3 with EXTENSO folded. The e-Berlingo Small Van's battery is mounted under the floor, so electric versions retain the same load volume as diesel.
Cost-option paint finishes are available beyond the standard Icy White, along with a choice of alloy or steel wheel designs depending on trim. A range of optional extras can also be specified, including a full-size spare wheel, a glazed bulkhead window, and a non-skid wood floor trim for the load area. Availability can vary based on current manufacturer ordering options.
Interior features
Enterprise Plus trim comes with a six-way adjustable driver's seat, an overhead cabin storage shelf, and Citroen's EXTENSO modular passenger bench, which includes a pivoting writing table and a load-through hatch in the bulkhead for carrying longer items. This extends load length to 3,090mm on the M and 3,440mm on the XL.
Driver trim adds a fully integrated satellite navigation system to the 10-inch touchscreen, along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. Both trims include a 12-volt socket, dashboard storage areas, and floor-mounted load securing rings.
Safety features
The Berlingo Small Van comes with Citroen's Advanced Emergency Braking System, Lane Keep Assist, and Driver Attention Alert as standard, which monitors driving patterns and warns drivers to take a break after extended periods behind the wheel. Intelligent Speed Assistance reads road signs and warns drivers if they exceed the local limit.
Driver trim adds Dynamic Surround View, which combines a digital rear-view mirror, lateral side view and a 180-degree reversing camera working with 12 parking sensors to reduce blind spots when manoeuvring. An optional Worksite Kit Pack is also available, adding Grip Control with Hill Descent Assist for drivers who regularly work on uneven or difficult ground.
