• What is the minimum term to lease a car?

  Synergy offers short-term car leasing and short-term van leasing to businesses from 3-months.  For existing customers, we may be able to offer shorter rentals, for example if you have a car on order with a longer lead time and need an interim solution.  A short-term car lease for 3-months is a popular length for our customers, and can be extended further if required and circumstances change or alter.  We also offer short-term van leases, including electric vans, which are a good solution for short-term contractors or seasonal workloads.

  For longer-term contract hire leasing agreements, the usual term would be either 2, 3 or 4 years.  However, we may also be able to source vehicles on a 12 month leasing contract too.

• Does Synergy offer short term personal leases?

  Currently Synergy does not offer short-term personal leases.  However, on certain vehicles, we can offer a minimum of 12-month car leasing contracts on personal contract hire.  Speak with our friendly and professional team to discuss your vehicle leasing needs, and we’ll see how we can help.

• Are there mileage restrictions when leasing a vehicle short-term?

  There is normally a monthly limit on the number of miles on a short-term lease car or van.  However, our team can ensure that the limit fits your requirements, as monthly mileages can be taken into consideration when configuring the right short-term lease deal for you and your business.   If the vehicle exceeds the mileage when the vehicle is returned, there will be an excess mileage charge to pay.  The amount of excess mileage is charged at pence per mile, and this will be communicated in advance of taking out the short-term leasing agreement.

• Can I extend or renew my short-term lease?

  Yes, it is possible to extend your short-term lease, usually up to a maximum of 2 years.  It is also possible to “switch out” your short-term lease car or van, and replace it with another short-term lease contact if you prefer.  Short-term leasing offers flexibility in this situation. 

• What condition will my short-term lease vehicle be in?  

  In the majority of cases, your short-term lease car or van will be a brand new vehicle.  In certain cases, it may be a vehicle which has been re-leased as it has only been leased for very short period of time and has low mileage.  Your Account Manager will be able to let you know the condition of the vehicle ahead of delivery.

• Will I need to obtain an MOT for the vehicle?  

  It’s highly unlikely that a short-term lease vehicle would be due for an MOT, as they tend to be brand new vehicles leased for short periods of time.  So the car or van would be not be three years old, and would therefore not require an MOT. 

  Short-term lease cars and vans do need to be serviced and maintained in line with the manufacturer’s guidelines, for which the company leasing the vehicle is responsible.  There is the option to include service and maintenance in the cost of the short-term lease, speak to your account manager for details.
