It’s also the first Hyundai to come with the new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit, offering advanced Over-The-Air (OTA) software updates.
Hyundai introduce the Kona as “a larger living space for all your adventures”. It sits in the middle of the Korean manufacturer’s SUV range, above the Bayon but below the Tucson and Santa Fe.

The Kona offers the choice of a range of efficient powertrains. The entry level Advance begins with the 1-litre petrol that produces 100bhp, while the 1.6-litre Hybrid achieves a WLTP combined efficiency of up to 60.1mpg.
According to Hyundai, designing the second-generation Kona began with an EV-first approach, with other variants introduced later. The 48kWh unit offers a WLTP range of up to 234 miles, while the larger 65kWh battery extends this to 319 miles. The Charge myHyundai app makes it easy to locate a charger, refuel and pay.
The Kona features a bold and distinctive exterior, highlighted by the Seamless Horizon Lamp which stretches across the entire front end. However, despite its futuristic design, the Kona remains unmistakably an SUV, with 17” alloy wheels and roof rails coming as standard.
Features like automatic headlights with dusk sensors and heated door mirrors make for a more comfortable and convenient drive.
The interior is the Kona is packed with tech and entertainment features. When stepping inside, you’ll immediately notice the curved panoramic display featuring two screens, a 12.3” infotainment touch screen and 12.3” digital cluster. Ambient lighting offers 64 colours so you can create a driving environment that suits you. Wireless Smartphone Integration includes Apple CarPlay and Android auto, while the wireless charger pad keeps your device powered.
The Kona comes equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, a collection of cutting-edge driver assistance systems. The Lane Following Assist monitors the lines of the road, while the Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control uses the navigation system to predict upcoming bends on motorways, automatically adjusting your speed accordingly.
The Remote Smart Parking Assist allows you to park the Kona using the buttons on your Smart Key, with you outside the car. If parking manually, the Collision Avoidance Assist will detect obstacles, display a warning, and apply the brakes if necessary.
