Mercedes B-Class Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
Please note: New supply terms and conditions apply for Mercedes Benz vehicles.
Flexible and practical but still distinctly Mercedes-Benz, the B-Class is a true premium family hatchback.
The Mercedes-Benz B-Class seems to always be popular with Synergy customers who’ve a family in mind. This premium compact car looks part-hatch, part-MPV and as such is part of a newer wave of vehicles that don’t commit outright to either of those styles. As such, it can only truly be compared to BMW’s 2-series Active Tourer.
The B-Class shares much in common with the A-Class hatchback, including most of the engines used to power it. All the engines on offer are turbocharged 4-cylinder units that send power to the front wheels. The sole petrol offering is a 1.6-litre that comes in two states of tune, either at 120bhp or 154bhp – punchy performers and perfect for those who run low annual mileages – while the diesels are 1.5 and 2.2-litre in size. The latter in ‘220d’ engine tune is the most powerful offering here, with 174bhp on offer. The latter is the only engine that allows the B-Class to come with all-wheel drive, and is also available exclusively with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Combined, this ‘220d’ engine, all-wheel drive- and the automatic gearbox give the B-Class the most ‘Benz’ feel to the little hatch.
When it comes to the interior, the B-Class is very clearly Mercedes-Benz. Recognisable design elements from larger cars like the C and E-Class are quite noticeable in the cabin and once again the materials used and quality of the overall finish are absolutely top-notch. Different trim levels give slightly different interior ambiences, but the AMG-Line with its sporty look always seems to be popular across the Mercedes-Benz range with Synergy customers. Space in the back seats is naturally quite important in a car like this and there’s lots of head and leg room for passengers thanks to the body style of the B-Class. Meanwhile, in the boot, 488-litres of load capacity is available with the seats up, increasing to 1,547-litres with the rear seats folded down.
When it comes to equipment, the B-Class is generously stocked. AMG-Line cars come with collision prevention assist, rear-view camera, 8-inch infotainment display, cruise control and dual-zone climate control, as well as the usual AMG-Line trim and design enhancements.
Though small in stature the B-Class is deceptively spacious and is a compelling choice for Synergy customers with a family who want to drive a car with a truly premium look and feel.
