MERCEDES-BENZ GLC COUPE CAR LEASING
The very popular GLC is an SUV that’s also available with coupe styling – perfect for those who prefer a sportier silhouette.
What we have here is a rare hybrid, but we’re not talking about electrically enhanced power here, we’re talking car genres. The Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe really isn’t a coupe, because it’s an SUV. But it does feature coupe-inspired styling that gives it a drastically different look to the standard GLC.
Mercedes has been producing a ‘compact’ SUV back since 2006, however, 2015 was the first time that the new GLC name appeared - with that GLC basically meaning ‘C-Class SUV’ in German car language.
The Mercedes GLC Coupe lease is virtually identical to the standard GLC – except for that body shape – the interior is mostly identical along with the engines and equipment too. Space and practicality levels do take a slight dent with the coupe styling, but things like off-road capability remain the same, though it’s just as unlikely that our customers will be taking their GLC’s too far off the road – these are very much urban cruisers, even if they have the ability to deal with fields, rutted tracks, and bad weather conditions.
With most SUVs, you tend to find that diesel power proves the most popular choice with customers. It makes perfect sense, because the extra torque diesel provides helps with any low-grip surfaces and the economy figures from these inevitably heavier and larger vehicles are often much better. Even so, the GLC is available with a range of engines regardless, from the standard diesel power units and even some petrol engines, to the giants of the GLC engine range that have been tuned by Mercedes own high-performance division – AMG. A big V8 petrol is going to be considerably more expensive to run than the diesels, but also considerably more fun.
The GLC’s body shape does mean that head room, boot space and even leg room is compromised slightly. Then again, a coupe shape isn’t meant to be anything other than a design statement – something to catch the eye. The standard GLC remains one of our most popular cars here at Synergy, but if you want yours to stand out from the crowd, the same-but-different GLC coupe is perhaps a route worth exploring.
