BYD Dolphin specs and stats
The Dolphin has quickly gained attention in the electric vehicle (EV) market thanks to its impressive specs and competitive pricing. Built on BYD's e-Platform 3.0, it comes with a choice of two batteries, 44.9KWH and 60.4KWH. The smaller battery has a WLTP range of up to 211 miles, while the larger one extends this to 265.
Power output varies between 95 bhp in the 44.9 kWh version and 204 bhp in the 60.4 kWh model. The higher-powered vehicle has a 0 to 62 mph time of 7 seconds, which is lively for a compact EV. Charging is also quick and convenient, with a fast charger allowing it to go from 30% to 80% in just 29 minutes.
Exterior and interior design

Despite its compact size, the BYD Dolphin is spacious and practical. The boot offers 345 litres of storage capacity, which expands to 1,310 litres with the split-folding rear seats down.
Rear passengers benefit from good headroom and legroom, even for taller adults. The rear floor is flat, which enhances comfort for passengers sitting in the middle seat. This is all complemented by the hatchback design, which makes loading and unloading simple, with a wide opening and a low load height.
