‘What’s Hot?’  – a regular article where we take a closer look at a car headlining our hottest offers and deals. For October’s edition, Content Editor Jonny Edge picks out the Toyota C-HR, a striking hybrid SUV.

You probably don’t need me to tell you that the world is slowly turning towards hybrid and electric vehicles. It’s becoming increasingly likely that at some point we’ll all have to look at changing to a car with some form of electrification. This is something we’re keeping a very close eye on here at Synergy Automotive, not just because it’s a fascinating time for the industry but also because our customers reflect the market in the sense that they’re increasingly looking towards partial or total electrification.

At the moment, one of our very best offers is on this – the Toyota C-HR hybrid. It ticks a lot of boxes for the current trends of the motoring world. It’s an SUV for a start, but a heavily design-driven machine that makes far more of an impact visually than many Toyota models, it’s a very stylish car and shows a distinct Japanese character. As for the hybridisation, Toyota has prestige when it comes to this technology, having brought into the world possibly the most famous hybrid car ever produced – the Prius.

Under the C-HR’s stylish bodywork lies the 1.8-litre turbo petrol engine and a battery pack that combine to give you around 120bhp. The two power sources work seamlessly together and provide some pretty impressive statistics – business lease customers in particular will be pleased to learn that the C-HR Hybrid gives out just 86g/km of CO2, while also delivering a potential 74mpg on a combined cycle.

The ‘Icon’ model that’s currently the subject of so much customer attention here at Synergy is the entry-level trim in the C-HR range, but it has an impressive selection of standard equipment. Adaptive cruise control, dual-zone climate control, Toyota’s 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a reversing camera, DAB and Bluetooth all come as standard. Toyota has also included its ‘Safety Sense’ system which bundles up a selection of safety aids such as lane departure warning, autonomous emergency braking, pedestrian detection and adaptive cruise control – great for driver and passenger safety all round.

This is a car that’s going to suit a lot of Synergy customers from different walks in life. It works well as a business car, being comfortable and efficient, it also functions as a small family car with low running costs and excellent safety features, as well as looking like it belongs wherever it’s taken. It’s great to see Toyota’s designers exercising their creative muscles a bit more and our customers have responded to this highly desirable new car – a big part of that is its design.

At this kind of price, the Toyota C-HR isn’t going to hang around long. It’s the best priced hybrid SUV we have here at Synergy and with Toyota’s excellent reputation as well as low running costs, it represents an excellent offer.
