NISSAN NV200
It’s the smallest van in the Nissan commercial vehicle fleet, but the NV200 has good loading potential for its small size.
If you’ve been to New York in the last year or so, you might look twice when you see a Nissan NV200. It is this little van that forms the basis for many New York taxis, though painted bright yellow and equipped for passengers they look quite different.
The NV200 has been produced for around a decade now, finding homes with businesses all over the world. Nissan has even produced a pure-electric, zero-emission version – the e-NV200. The NV200 though is powered exclusively by a Renault-sourced 1.5-litre ‘dCi’ 4-cylinder turbo diesel engine producing either 89 or 108bhp. All engines come with a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard and Nissan claims the NV200 will deliver up to 57mpg while putting 128g/km of CO2 back into the atmosphere in the 89bhp version.
Just 1 size of NV200 is available, there are no alternative heights, lengths or wheelbases, but the NV200’s load space is nonetheless considered impressive. There’s 4.2m³ of load volume in the rear, with enough space to carry two Europallets and a load of up to 1.36m can be squeezed into the back. Twin-sliding doors on either side of the NV200 come as standard and aid with loading, and the van has a capacity to carry up to 739kg.
If carrying people is important to your business, there’s a Crew Cab version of the NV200 available too, with room for up to 5-people while retaining a 2.3m³ of potential load volume. In the front, the cabin is relatively spacious for its size and the materials used in the construction of the cabin are designed to last over a long period of time. Nissan has made 3 trim levels available for the NV200 – ‘Visia’, ‘Acenta’ and ‘Tekna’ - all of which offer different levels of equipment for varying business requirements.
Despite its compact proportions the Nissan NV200 has a good level of loading potential and its low price and efficient engines mean it often makes for a good option for many different businesses.
