NISSAN JUKE
Dramatically styled high-riding hatchback that’s been a big success across Europe for Nissan.
Officially, the Nissan Juke is classed as a subcompact SUV, but it’s probably better to view it as a hatchback that rides higher than Nissan family members the Micra and Pulsar.
Since its launch back in 2010, the Juke has exceeded Nissan’s expectations, capitalising on the trend for funky styled SUVs and finding homes across Europe in built-up environments where a smaller SUV fits better – after all, being able to move around easily and park in cities is often a tricky affair.
While its styling won’t be to everybody’s tastes, the Juke is pretty trendy and many of Nissan’s rivals have chosen to emulate its look. In its own way, it’s a bit of a trailblazer and though its design might now be over 8 years old, it still looks modern and vibrant.
As it is a smaller car, the Juke is powered by small capacity turbocharged engines. For petrol, that means there’s a choice between 1.2 and 1.6-litre ‘DIG-T’ units. The latter is available with an automatic gearbox, but the 1.2 with its 114bhp often proves more popular. The 1.6-litre can produce up to 215bhp in the hot ‘Nismo RS’ model, showing once again that modern engines are capable of high outputs even if they’ve a low capacity. The sole diesel option is a 1.5-litre unit that produces around 110bhp. It’s probably best suited to Synergy customers covering a larger number of miles, and its 104g/km of CO2 and claimed 70mpg combined also suits business lease customers too.
In 2019, Nissan will roll out an all-new Juke, but with that on the horizon 2018 makes for a good time to pick up a Juke, as Nissan is rolling out some special offers and editions that help us put together some excellent deals here at Synergy. The new ‘Bose Edition’ is one such example, featuring the excellent sound system found in the Nissan Micra, some styling tweaks and a superb price. Performance enthusiasts might find now is also the perfect time to pick up a Nismo RS, the only all-wheel driven Juke available with either a manual or automatic gearbox and setup to give a very sporty ride. In the hot hatch world, it’s quite different to just about anything else out there.
If the Nissan Juke is your cup of tea, 2018 might well be the best time to give us a call and lease one here at Synergy Automotive.
