Renault Kangoo Business & Commercial Leasing Offers
Available with combustion engine or electric power, the Renault Kangoo is a reliable workhorse for businesses worldwide.
Success is often measured by statistics, so here are a couple of crucial stats about the Renault Kangoo – the French giant’s smallest van. In 2017, more than 130,000 Kangoo vans were sold throughout the world, with the all-electric Kangoo ZE the leader in electric van sales across Europe. The Renault Group is so confident in the future of the Kangoo that it has also invested nearly half a billion euros in the future of its plant.
The plant where the Renault Kangoo is produced in France also produces the Mercedes-Benz Citan and will also build in future the Nissan NV250 and an as yet unnamed Mitsubishi van based on the Kangoo. The current generation of Kangoo was introduced back in 2008, so it has been a popular commercial vehicle for over a decade now. Prior to that, the generation that came before it began production in 1998.
Combustion engine power comes from a 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine available in 3 outputs – 74, 89 or 108bhp. A manual gearbox is supplied as standard, or a double-clutch automatic transmission is available as an option should you prefer. In the all-electric zero-emission Kangoo ZE, a 22kWh lithium ion battery gives a range of around 100-miles, but this is very dependant on the load and conditions that the vehicle is driving in. The range is useful enough for urban work and it has proven popular, becoming the best-selling electric commercial vehicle since its introduction. Renault also made sure that the interior dimensions of the Kangoo ZE matched that of the diesel-powered version.
In its largest Kangoo ‘Maxi’ form, the dimensions are as follows. The maximum load length is 2115mm, maximum load height is 1252mm, maximum load width is 1219mm with a distance between wheel arches of 1218mm and the maximum possible payload is listed at around 800kg. Only the ‘Maxi’ will be able to incorporate 2 Euro pallets into its loading area.
With continued investment in both the manufacturing facilities and zero-emission powertrains, the Renault Kangoo looks set to continue to be a tough rival for the likes of the Ford Transit Connect and Citroen Berlingo.
