Posted one month agoThe Rafale is Renault’s latest hybrid flagship, introduced in 2024 as the brand’s first coupe-SUV. It sits above the Austral in the range and shares its CMF-CD platform, but brings a more dynamic shape, larger dimensions and a premium edge.
Designed for drivers who want SUV practicality with coupe styling, the Rafale is available with a full hybrid system or a plug-in hybrid with four-wheel drive. It’s aimed at customers looking for something more refined without stepping into the premium segment.

- Iconic Esprit Alpine: The most luxurious trim, upgrades to 21-inch wheels, hands-free parking, Harman Kardon audio system, and a solarbay opacifying panoramic glass roof as standard on PHEV models.
The Techno and Techno Esprit Alpine trims use the E-Tech Full Hybrid 200 system. This combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with twin electric motors and a multi-mode automatic gearbox. It produces 200bhp, drives the front wheels, and achieves 0–62mph in 8.9 seconds.
The Iconic Esprit Alpine is also available with the E-Tech 4x4 300 plug-in hybrid system. This adds a third motor on the rear axle for four-wheel drive and boosts total output to 300bhp. It delivers sharper acceleration, with a 0–62mph time of 6.4 seconds and offers up to 65 miles of electric-only range (WLTP) thanks to its 22kWh battery.
The Renault Rafale stands out with its coupe-SUV profile and sculpted body lines. All versions feature LED headlights, front and rear signature lighting, and gloss black detailing. The Esprit Alpine trims add a sportier edge with exclusive Alpine badging, dark chrome elements and privacy glass.
Wheel sizes range from 19-inch alloys on the Techno trim to 21-inch diamond-cut alloys on the Iconic Esprit Alpine. A contrasting black roof and integrated rear spoiler further emphasise the Rafale’s dynamic look. Iconic Esprit Alpine models also come with a solarbay opacifying panoramic glass roof that can switch from transparent to opaque at the touch of a button.
Inside the Rafale, you’ll find a spacious and modern cabin with high-quality materials and a driver-focused layout. All models include a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 12-inch openR central touchscreen running Renault’s Google-based infotainment system.
The Techno trim features fabric and synthetic leather upholstery with heated front seats and dual-zone climate control. Moving up to the Esprit Alpine trims brings sportier Alcantara and synthetic leather finishes with blue stitching, a heated steering wheel, and aluminium pedals. Iconic Esprit Alpine models add premium touches like electrically adjustable front seats with memory function and a high-end Harman Kardon audio system.
The Renault Rafale comes with a strong package of safety and driver assistance features across the range. Standard equipment includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, traffic sign recognition, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.
