Skoda Karoq Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The Karoq takes Skoda into the increasingly popular compact SUV market, and it’s a very accomplished offering.
Skoda had a bit of a challenge on its hands when the time came to replace its popular ‘Yeti’. The little Yeti SUV was a very popular car for Skoda, helping the brand forge a real reputation for reliability, quality and exceptional value for money here in the UK. The car it replaced it with is the Karoq, a more modern and perhaps more fashionable approach to SUV construction.
First to change was the name, though. Skoda wanted to unify the names of its SUVs by giving them monikers ending in the letter ‘q’, so ‘Karoq’ was chosen to go with ‘Kodiaq’, and it is a mixture of native Alaskan words for ‘car’ and ‘arrow’ - the winged arrow being Skoda’s symbol.
The new Karoq is a larger, better appointed car when compared to its predecessor and is available with petrol and diesel engines, as well as all-wheel drive or front-wheel drive. It is closely related to both the Volkswagen Tiguan and the Seat Ateca and has a handsome style and car-like driving qualities.
The engine line-up gives you a good choice – petrol comes from a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged unit producing 114bhp or a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo with 148bhp. Both engines are offered with a 6-speed manual as standard, though a 7-speed DSG double-clutch automatic is available as an option. Only the 1.5-litre is available if you want petrol-powered all-wheel drive. Diesel units are both 4-cylinder turbos in 1.6 or 2.0-litre ‘TDI’ forms, with 114 and 148bhp respectively. Again, both gearboxes are offered but only the more powerful engine is available with all-wheel drive.
All Karoq models are very well equipped, even the base model gets dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, DAB, a touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and automatic lights. As with all Skoda models, a range of ‘Simply Clever’ solutions also appear, such as a removable LED torch located in the boot. In higher levels of trim, navigation, heated front seats and a panoramic sunroof can be found, as well as an off-road orientated model (the Scout) and a sporty-styled version (Sportline).
A comfortable, better driving evolution of Skoda’s compact SUV model, the new Karoq is excellent value for money and is a fantastic example of a modern SUV. Contact our friendly and helpful team today to find out more about this excellent model.
