Engine & Performance

The all-new Hilux comes with a choice of Diesel 48V or fully electric power, both with four-wheel drive and an automatic gearbox.

The diesel pairs a 2.8-litre turbodiesel with a 48V battery and motor-generator for smoother, quieter running, especially pulling away and under load. It produces up to 204bhp, with payload of up to 1,065kg and towing up to 3.5 tonnes. Combined fuel economy runs from 28.2 to 29.1mpg, with CO2 emissions of 254-258g/km.

The electric Hilux uses a 59kWh battery driving front and rear eAxles for permanent all-wheel drive, producing up to 196bhp and up to 159 miles of WLTP range. Rapid charging at up to 150kW takes around 30 minutes from 10-80%. Payload and towing drop to 715kg and 1.7 tonnes against the diesel, reflecting the extra weight of the battery.

Both versions get electric power steering for the first time on Hilux, and the same body-on-frame construction and 700mm wading depth that have defined Hilux off-road ability for decades. Diesel remains the choice for maximum range, payload and towing; electric suits zero-emission, quieter running where charging access allows.

Exterior Features

The all-new Hilux is built around a "Tough and Agile" design theme, with a wider, more muscular stance and geometric wheel arches marking it out from the outgoing model. At the front, a slim headlight signature and bold grille with Toyota's classic lettering give it a more technical look than before.

Wheel sizes climb through the diesel range, from steel wheels on Active to 17-inch alloys on Icon and Invincible, and Invincible X's own 18-inch design. The electric Hilux rides on alloy wheels from Icon upward. Interior Features

Every Hilux gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen running Toyota's Smart Connect multimedia system, paired with a 12.3-inch digital Combimeter offering four display themes (Casual, Smart, Tough, and Sport) across three layout options, from a single dial to a full digital display. Active keeps things simple with a digital multi-information display and manual seats. Safety Features

The all-new Hilux is yet to be tested by Euro NCAP, so no UK safety rating is currently available for this generation.

Every Hilux comes with Toyota Safety Sense as standard, including a Pre-Collision System that can detect vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists and apply the brakes if the driver doesn't react in time, plus Adaptive Cruise Control with Road Sign Assist, Automatic High Beam, and Blind Spot Monitoring.
