VW ID.4 Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The Volkswagen ID.4 was first introduced in 2020 as Volkswagen's first purpose-built electric SUV, quickly becoming one of the brand's most important models. Its clean, minimalist design and spacious cabin helped establish the brand as a serious contender in the electric SUV market, with updates in the years since continuing to build on that early success.
The latest ID.4 marks a clear step forward for the range. Larger batteries and improved efficiency now offer up to 347 miles of range, while familiar Volkswagen styling keeps it feeling premium without losing its practicality. Built on the dedicated MEB electric platform, it reflects the brand's ongoing investment in electric vehicles.
Being fully electric gives the ID.4 wide appeal, particularly for company car drivers looking to reduce Benefit-in-Kind tax and running costs. Volkswagen ID.4 business lease and Volkswagen ID.4 personal lease customers alike will find a spacious, comfortable SUV suited equally to family life and daily business use.

Key Specifications
Volkswagen ID.4 leasing includes four trims, each available with a choice of battery size and, on selected trims, four-wheel drive:
- Essential: Essential comes well equipped as standard, with 19-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, keyless entry and start, dual-zone climate control and a rear-view camera. It's available with either the 58kWh battery or the larger 79kWh battery.
- Match: Adds extra styling and convenience, adding two-tone alloy wheels, tinted rear glass, ambient interior lighting, wireless phone charging and an electric tailgate. It's the only trim to offer the full range of battery and drivetrain choices, including 4MOTION four-wheel drive.
- Black Edition: Takes Match as its base and gives the ID.4 a sportier finish, with gloss-black alloy wheels, black exterior styling, a panoramic glass roof and massage front seats. It's available only with the larger 79kWh battery, in rear-wheel-drive or 4MOTION four-wheel-drive form.
- GTX Edition: Sits at the top of the range and comes exclusively with four-wheel-drive. It adds 20-inch alloy wheels, Matrix LED headlights, an all-round view camera and a head-up display, trading a little range (up to 325 miles) for sharper performance.
Optional extras include a swivelling tow bar that tucks neatly away when not in use, and an energy-efficient heat pump to help preserve range in colder weather. Most exterior colours are included at no extra cost, including two-tone finishes with a contrasting black roof, with Kings Red Metallic the only paint option to carry an additional charge. On GTX Edition models, the optional Sports Package Plus adds adaptive chassis control (DCC) with selectable driving profiles, progressive steering, and sports-tuned front and rear shock absorption for a sharper, more engaging drive.
Engine & Performance
The ID.4 comes with a choice of two battery sizes across most of the range. Essential trim can be specified with a 58kWh battery, offering up to 268 miles of range (WLTP), or the larger 79kWh battery for up to 351 miles, both driving the rear wheels through a single electric motor.
Match follows the same pattern, while Black Edition is available only with the larger 79kWh battery. For extra traction, Match and Black Edition can also be specified with 4MOTION four-wheel drive, which adds a second motor at the front axle and brings range down slightly, to up to 341 miles and 336 miles respectively, in exchange for improved stability in poorer conditions.
GTX Edition sits at the top of the range and is available exclusively as a four-wheel-drive model, producing enough power for 0-62mph in 5.4 seconds. Even in this sportier form, the ID.4 stays focused on comfort and everyday usability rather than outright speed.
Charging is straightforward across the range too. Models with the smaller 58kWh battery can charge at up to 145kW, while 79kWh models increase this to 175kW, and GTX Edition tops out at 185kW, adding around 100 miles of range in as little as ten minutes at a compatible public rapid charger.
Exterior Features
The ID.4's design is clean and understated rather than boxy or retro, built around Volkswagen's minimalist electric styling language. At the front, a full-width light bar sits below an illuminated VW badge, creating a distinctive signature after dark, while the sloping roofline and flush-fitting details help keep the shape aerodynamic.
Wheel sizes grow with the range, from 19-inch steel wheels on Essential to two-tone alloys on Match, gloss-black alloys on Black Edition and 20-inch alloys on GTX Edition. Higher trims also introduce a panoramic glass roof and additional black exterior detailing, giving the top of the range a sharper, more premium finish.
Interior Features
Inside, the ID.4's cabin is built around simplicity and space. A central touchscreen sits alongside a digital driver display, and a slim ID.Light strip beneath the windscreen changes colour to flag navigation prompts, charging status and driver assistance alerts. Essential and Match come with a 10-inch touchscreen, while GTX Edition steps up to a larger 12-inch unit.
The flat floor, made possible by the ID.4's dedicated electric platform, gives rear passengers genuine legroom, and integrated storage across the dashboard and centre console keeps things practical day to day. Match adds ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and an electric tailgate, while Black Edition brings a panoramic glass roof and massage front seats for a more refined finish.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking, lane assist and a rear-view camera, giving every ID.4 a solid baseline of driver support. Higher trim levels build on this with an all-round view camera and additional parking assistance, making tighter manoeuvres and unfamiliar car parks easier to manage.
The ID.4 was Euro NCAP tested to a five-star standard when it launched, reflecting Volkswagen's focus on structural safety and driver assistance technology across the range.
