Volkswagen ID. Polo Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The ID. Polo sits at the entry point of Volkswagen's electric range, arriving as a five-door hatchback built on the brand's updated MEB+ platform. It's the smallest hatchback in Volkswagen's current all-electric line-up, bringing one of its longest-running names into the ID. family more than fifty years after the original Polo first launched.
It offers up to 280 miles of range, a 441-litre boot that beats most cars in its class, and a combination of physical buttons alongside a 13-inch touchscreen. Front-wheel drive and a floor-mounted battery free up that extra boot space compared with the combustion Polo or even a Volkswagen Golf, while the reintroduction of physical switches for climate and window controls addresses one of the most common criticisms from Volkswagen's earlier ID. models.
For drivers who want an electric car that still feels familiar to operate, that combination of practicality and straightforward controls makes ID. Polo leasing a distinctive choice for drivers moving from a combustion hatchback into their first EV, as well as existing Polo fans who want a similar driving position and overall feel, although with the running costs and smoothness of an EV.
The Volkswagen ID.Polo qualifies for the Electric Car Grant, helping lower the cost of your EV lease. For more information, see our complete Electric Car Grant vehicle guide.

Standard equipment includes a 10-inch Digital Cockpit driver display, a 13-inch Innovision touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, LED headlights, a reversing camera and adaptive cruise control.

Engine & performance
Using a single-speed automatic transmission, the VW ID. Polo is front-wheel drive throughout the range.
Built on Volkswagen's MEB+ platform, two battery sizes are available: a 37kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack and a larger 52kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) pack. At launch, the smaller battery pairs with a 133bhp motor, giving 0-62mph in under 10 seconds and a WLTP range of around 200 miles. The larger battery pairs with a 208bhp motor, cutting 0-62mph to 7.1 seconds and extending WLTP range to up to 280 miles.
The smaller battery supports DC charging at up to 90kW, adding 10-80% charge in around 27 minutes, while the larger battery supports up to 105kW, completing the same charge in around 24 minutes. Every ID. Polo comes with standard one-pedal driving and Vehicle-to-Load capability, allowing the car's battery to power external devices at up to 3.6kW.
Exterior features
The ID. Polo carries an illuminated Volkswagen badge front and rear as standard, set within a front light bar. Style trim adds IQ.LIGHT LED Matrix headlights and extends the light bar to connect visually with the headlights and 3D-effect LED tail lights, giving the car a more distinctive road presence after dark.
17 or 19-inch wheel options are available depending on trim and specification. VW ID. Polo optional extras include a panoramic glass roof and cost-option paint finishes beyond the standard metallic colour included on launch models. Availability can vary based on current manufacturer ordering options.
Interior features
The VW ID. Polo interior pairs a 10-inch Digital Cockpit driver display with a 13-inch Innovision touchscreen that can be switched to a retro display mode for the digital instruments. Rather than relying solely on touchscreen controls, Volkswagen has reintroduced physical switches for climate and window functions, along with a rotary dial for volume control.
The car's front-wheel-drive layout frees up an underfloor storage compartment beneath the boot floor in addition to the main 441-litre boot, useful for small to medium items, such as charging cables or extra shopping. Style trim adds ambient interior lighting, a heated steering wheel and heated front seats.
Safety features
The ID. Polo is yet to be tested by Euro NCAP, so an official safety rating is currently unavailable.
Standard safety equipment includes blind spot warning and lane assist across the range. Connected Travel Assist uses a forward-facing camera to help recognise traffic signals, while Park Assist includes a memory function that can learn and repeat parking manoeuvres. Digital key functionality allows up to four smartphones to be set up for keyless access. As with other assisted-driving systems, these features are designed to support an attentive driver rather than replace one.
