VW TAIGO CAR LEASING
Volkswagen is a brand that always seems to deliver quality products, and the brand has always been a safe bet if you’re looking for a vehicle high in quality with great reliability and an overall stellar reputation. Models like the Golf, Passat and Polo have gone down in history, and new models like the Tiguan, Touareg are destined for the same thing. Now there’s another new Volkswagen crossover too, the Volkswagen Taigo - a stylish coupe-style take on the T-Cross, another recent hit out of Wolfsburg.
The new Volkswagen Taigo arrives at a time when sporty-looking SUVs are beginning to arrive more frequently. We’ve recently seen the Ford Puma and the Audi Q2 stealing some hearts, but this is still a practical car and has other rivals such as the Skoda Kamiq and the fun-handling Mini Countryman too. Like its stablemate, the Volkswagen T-Cross, with which it shares almost all of its DNA, the Taigo is a front-engined crossover powered by smaller petrol engines, but its style is far more sportive and so if you’d like a small Volkswagen crossover but want more of a look, then the Taigo could be right up your street.
Two different petrol engines appear in the new Volkswagen Taigo, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo and the slightly beefier 1.5-litre ‘EVO’ petrol. In terms of where that leaves you with power outputs, it ranges from 94 to 148bhp, depending on your choice of model. All Taigo models are front-wheel driven, and the fastest you’ll accelerate is in the 148bhp model with the DSG automatic gearbox, giving you a 0-62mph time of 8.3-seconds. As standard, a manual gearbox is provided, but the 7-speed DSG is an optional extra.
Inside the Taigo presents a comfortable, modern interior space. All cars come with digital dials behind the steering wheel, giving every model an up-to-date feel. In the boot, 440-litres of space gives you plenty of room to shop, and the rear seating can be split 60/40 to give you more room on top. Several trim levels are available giving slight but distinct variations in equipment and trim, with R-Line being the sportiest of those levels, inspired by Volkswagen’s more potent ‘R’ line of sporty models.
