HYUNDAI I10 CAR LEASING
The Hyundai i10 is a practical, connected modern city car that’s excellent value for money
In the city car segment of the car market there’s huge competition and manufacturers often go heavy on styling to draw as much attention as possible – think the Toyota Aygo’s giant X-shaped front end or Fiat’s retro hero, the 500. Unlike some of its competition, the Hyundai i10 just keeps things simple, being a comfortable, practical and well-equipped car.
Not that it isn’t smart to look at, of course. It’s a very Hyundai approach to design, with no gimmicks and little flair. Instead, the Korean firm builds handsome, well-proportioned machines and that’s exactly what the i10 is. In more than looks alone, it’s trying to be a larger car.
The engines are still small car units, of course. There’s a 1.0 or 1.2-litre petrol engine to choose from, with the former producing around 66bhp and the latter closer to 86. The engines are 3 and 4-cylinder units respectively, both with a nod towards efficiency over outright performance – though there’s more than enough to get the lightweight i10 moving along at a strong pace.
Many reviews of the i10 have praised it for its mature ride. City cars can often feel firm and skip across rough surfaces, but Hyundai has received plenty of positive feedback about the comfort of its smallest car. Working alongside the ride, the interior space is among the best in this class of vehicle, which further enhances the driving experience in favour of comfort. A spacious luggage compartment of 252 litres expands to an impressive 1,046 litres when the rear seats are folded down, adding further practicality.
With the looks and comfort of a larger cars, it makes sense that there’s some big car kit on offer. Top-spec ‘Premium SE’ models get heated seats and a heated steering wheel, as well as Hyundai’s 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation and smartphone integration. In terms of safety tech, ESP, tyre pressure monitoring, vehicle stability management and braking assistance is available on all models, while further enhancements such as lane keeping assistance and advanced collision warning are available as options on some models.
Though not as charismatic as some of its competition, the Hyundai i10 is a self-confident car that delivers the feeling of a bigger machine within the compact proportions of a machine made for the city.
