Lexus LC Coupe Car Leasing
Futuristically designed and powered by hybrid or V8 power, the Lexus LC is an unforgettable Grand Tourer.
Seeing a Lexus LC in the metal leaves a lasting impression. It looks like nothing else on the road, a wide, low coupe with creases and lines that look as if the car has been folded like paper in some places. Lexus says the LC was developed by a team comprising over 4,000 people comprising designers, engineers and technicians from locations such as California and Japan, so big things are expected.
It is an undoubtedly stunning visual creation, a demonstration of Lexus’s design abilities, but more than that, it is also intended to demonstrate the firm’s engineering credentials, a car the firm says will redefine how you might view hybrid technology.
Of course, hybrid technology is primarily in existence to aid in the lowering of CO2 emissions and to save fuel. Because of this, it is often perceived as being something that doesn’t provide any enjoyment to enthusiastic drivers. With the LC500h – the world’s first 4-stage ‘Multi Stage Hybrid System’ - Lexus thinks it can persuade you otherwise.
In the 500h, a 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine is linked to an electric motor providing a combined power output of 365bhp which in turn makes the LC capable of a sprint to 62mph in exactly 5-seconds from standstill. This is just 3 tenths of a second slower than the V8 powered version of the LC – the 500 - which takes 4.7-seconds, while having considerably more horses under its bonnet and unable to get anywhere near the 500h’s 150g/km CO2 emissions and potential 42.8mpg on a combined cycle.
If the 5.0-litre V8 is the engine you desire, you’ll be interested to know that it’s the world’s first production car to be fitted with a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Though, with LC500h you can boast about having a theoretical infinite number of gears from its ‘E-CVT’ gearbox.
While the LC doesn’t really have trim levels in the usual sense, it is offered in ‘Sport Pack’ and ‘Sport Pack+’ guises which offer extra sporting credentials, as well as a Limited Edition, available exclusively in the striking ‘Naples Yellow’ colour. The latter is sure not to be available for long, but even the standard car boasts features such as a glass roof, a 10.3-inch infotainment system with navigation and connected services, a reversing camera, leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seating and adaptive suspension.
A remarkable car with serious presence, the Lexus LC gives a flavour as to the driver’s car of the future, while keeping one foot in the past for those not quite ready to make the jump to hybridisation.
