Mazda 6e Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The Mazda6 ran for three generations between 2002 and 2023, and more than three million had been built worldwide by the end of 2014. The Mazda 6e takes over that role as Mazda's electric saloon. It was revealed at the 2025 Brussels Motor Show and developed alongside Mazda's Chinese joint-venture partner, Changan. In the UK, it comes as a five-door fastback in Takumi and Takumi Plus trims. It's aimed at company car drivers and fleets moving into electric, as well as personal customers who want an alternative to the usual electric SUV. It sits above the Mazda 3 in Mazda's UK line-up and below the CX-6e.
Mazda UK has skipped the entry-level trims and smaller battery sold in Europe, so both UK trims use the same 78kWh battery and 190kW (258bhp) rear-wheel-drive motor. The step up to Takumi Plus centres on a tan Nappa leather interior rather than extra range or performance. Mazda Research Europe in Frankfurt has also recalibrated the suspension, steering, and braking for UK roads.
- Body Type: Saloon

Key Specifications
Mazda 6e trims include Takumi and Takumi Plus:
- Takumi: Standard equipment includes 19-inch black machined aerodynamic alloy wheels, a full panoramic glass roof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, a 14-speaker Sony sound system, and a 360-degree camera with See-Through View. The cabin is trimmed in black or stone Maztex, Mazda's vegan alternative to leather.
- Takumi Plus: Tops the range and shares the same battery, motor, and standard equipment as Takumi. Its upgrades focus on the interior, adding premium tan Nappa leather seats with artificial suede woven fabric, quilted artificial suede door cards, a two-tone black and tan leather steering wheel, and dark wood grain trim. An electric sunshade for the panoramic roof is also included, controlled from the rear touchscreen.
Paint finishes are the only cost options from the factory, reflecting how much both trims include as standard. Cost-option finishes include Jet Black, Aero Grey, Polymetal Grey, Deep Crystal Blue, Machine Grey, and Mazda's signature Soul Red Crystal. A fully retractable electric towbar can also be fitted by the dealer, supporting a braked towing capacity of up to 1,500kg. It deploys at the touch of a button and stays hidden from view when not in use. Availability can vary by trim and current manufacturer ordering options.
Engine & performance
The Mazda 6e is fully electric, and both trims use the same powertrain. A 78kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery powers a rear-mounted 190kW (258bhp) motor, which produces 290Nm of torque and drives the rear wheels. It covers 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds and reaches a top speed of 109mph. The WLTP range is up to 348 miles. Comfort, Sport, and Individual drive modes adjust the steering feel, accelerator response, and level of regenerative braking.
DC rapid charging runs at up to 200kW, taking the battery from 10 to 80 per cent in 24 minutes or from 30 to 80 per cent in 15 minutes. At home, a 7.2kW wallbox charges the 6e from empty to full in 11 hours and 48 minutes, which suits drivers who can charge overnight. Because Takumi and Takumi Plus share the same battery and motor, range and performance are identical whichever trim you choose.
Exterior features
The Mazda 6e follows the latest evolution of Mazda's Kodo design language. Its low roofline and short rear deck give it a coupe-style profile, and the frameless doors use flush power door handles that present themselves as you approach. At the front, the illuminated Signature Wing wraps around the gloss black grille. It animates while the car is charging and shows the battery's charge status at a glance. At the rear, a full-width through-flow LED light bar sits above Mazda lettering, which replaces the usual badge for the first time on a Mazda.
An electrically extendable rear spoiler, another Mazda first, rises automatically at 56mph. It can also be set to deploy in Sport mode or to stay open or closed. Both trims ride on 19-inch black machined aerodynamic alloy wheels designed to help maximise range, and privacy glass is fitted to the rear side windows and rear windscreen. Seven exterior colours are available, from the standard Crystal White Pearl to Soul Red Crystal. Availability can vary by trim and current manufacturer ordering options.
Interior features
The 6e's cabin follows the Japanese concept of 'Ma', the beauty of empty space. A 14.6-inch central touchscreen sits alongside a 10.2-inch digital driver display, and the floating centre console leaves an open storage area beneath it. Both trims come with a full panoramic glass roof, 64-colour ambient lighting, and three-stage heated and ventilated front seats. The driver's seat is electrically adjustable, including lumbar support, and has a memory function.
Rear passengers have their own touchscreen for adjusting the cabin temperature and moving the front passenger seat, and a folding centre armrest holds two cupholders. The 60:40 split rear seats fold to increase boot capacity from 337 litres to 1,074 litres. The hatchback tailgate makes that space easier to load than a traditional saloon boot. Under the bonnet, a 72-litre front storage area has its own false floor, giving a separate space for charging cables away from the main boot.
Safety features
The Mazda 6e has a maximum five-star Euro NCAP rating, awarded in 2025. It scored 93 per cent for both Adult Occupant and Child Occupant protection, 74 per cent for Vulnerable Road Users, and 77 per cent for Safety Assist. In the child occupant tests, it achieved maximum points for frontal and side impact protection and full marks for child seat installation. A Child Presence Detection system also alerts the driver if movement is detected in the rear when they open their door. Front, side, and curtain airbags are fitted, plus a front centre airbag designed to reduce occupant-to-occupant injuries in a side impact.
Both trims come with Smart Brake Support, Mazda's autonomous emergency braking system. It monitors for vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists ahead and also applies the brakes when reversing out of a parking space if a crossing vehicle is detected. Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Door Opening Warning, and Emergency Lane Keeping are standard, alongside a camera-based Driver Monitoring system that detects fatigue and distraction. Cruising & Traffic Support can assist with steering, acceleration, and braking in heavy traffic.

Business Leasing
A Mazda 6e business lease suits company car drivers, directors, and fleet drivers who cover long distances and want a spacious electric car that isn't an SUV. The 348-mile WLTP range and 24-minute rapid charge suit field-based and motorway-heavy roles. Both trims have a P11D value under £40,000, which helps the 6e fit within many user-chooser fleet price caps. As a zero-emission car, it also attracts a lower Benefit-in-Kind rate than a petrol or diesel equivalent.
Fleet leasing with the Mazda 6e gives businesses a five-seat electric fastback for drivers who need long-distance range, a practical hatchback boot, and the same standard safety equipment on both trims.
Personal Leasing
A Mazda 6e personal lease lets you drive a new electric car for a fixed monthly payment, then hand it back at the end of your agreement. It suits drivers who regularly cover longer journeys and want a panoramic roof, heated and ventilated seats, and a 14-speaker Sony sound system without adding options.
At the end of your agreement, you return the car, subject to the agreed mileage and our fair wear and tear guide. Mazda 6e leasing deals can be built around your annual mileage, contract length, and initial rental. That gives you fixed pricing for the length of your contract.
Mazda 6e Salary Sacrifice
As a fully electric car producing zero tailpipe emissions, the Mazda 6e may be suitable for salary sacrifice. This can be a tax-efficient way for eligible employees to drive a new car, because payments come from gross salary before Income Tax and National Insurance are deducted. Its Benefit-in-Kind rate of 4 per cent for 2026/27 also keeps the taxable benefit low.
Salary sacrifice isn't available to everyone by default. Your employer needs to have a scheme in place, and you'll need to meet its eligibility criteria. Synergy can support businesses introducing or managing a salary sacrifice scheme, including adding electric models such as the Mazda 6e to the options available to employees.
