Mini Cooper Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers

First launched in 1959 and reinvented by BMW in 2001, Mini has become a genuine symbol of British motoring. Worldwide sales grew 18% in 2025, and electric models made up a record 37% of everything the brand sold. The Cooper family, covering the 3-door, 5-door, and Mini Convertible, was the biggest contributor to that total, with global sales up 10.3% to 162,789 units. In the UK, that range splits into two separately engineered cars: a petrol Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works, and an all-electric Cooper E and Cooper SE.

The current Cooper launched in 2024 as two distinct cars. The electric Cooper E and Cooper SE became the first Mini hatchback built on a dedicated EV platform, rather than a converted petrol chassis, sharing that architecture with the Aceman that followed later the same year.

As the smallest model in the Mini range, the Cooper is built around agile, go-kart handling rather than outright space, and that character is what draws company car drivers and personal customers to it. The electric Cooper E and Cooper SE add a stylish, low-emission choice for a fleet or pool car on a Mini Cooper business lease, while the wider petrol and electric range gives personal customers one of Britain's most recognisable small cars on a Mini Cooper personal lease.

- Body Type: Hatchback and Convertible

- Fuel Type: Petrol and Electric

- Electric Range: Up to 250 miles (WLTP, Cooper SE)

- Number of Seats: 4 (3-door and Convertible), 5 (5-door)

- Boot Size: Up to 275 litres (5-door)

Key Specifications

Mini Cooper trims include Classic, Exclusive, and Sport, alongside John Cooper Works as a standalone flagship trim. A new entry-level One engine is available in Classic specification.

- Classic: The entry trim, with 17-inch alloys, LED headlights, and a choice of five paint finishes, including Ocean Wave Green and Sunny Side Yellow. Two contrasting roof colours are also available, and the headlights can be specified with three customisable light signatures.

- Exclusive: Adds British Racing Green paint, a dark interior headliner, and 17-inch alloys as standard, with two larger wheel designs available. The front grille is finished in Vibrant Silver, and a Nightshade Blue interior trim option is also offered.

- Sport: Brings sportier styling, steering wheel paddles, 18-inch alloys, and black brake callipers with JCW badging. A rear spoiler and gloss black grille surround are included, with an optional Chili Red roof and red-and-black bonnet stripes.

- John Cooper Works: The performance flagship, with sports suspension and a bespoke body kit as standard. It also gets a heated JCW steering wheel, a central exhaust on petrol models, and a head-up display as standard.

Beyond trim level, buyers can add three equipment packs. Level 1 brings heated front seats, a head-up display, wireless charging, and comfort access. Level 2 builds on this with a Harman Kardon sound system and a panoramic glass sunroof, and includes four years of MINI Connected for real-time traffic and navigation updates. Level 3 tops the range with an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function, an interior camera, and augmented reality navigation.

Mini's collaboration with designer Paul Smith, previously offered only on the electric Cooper, extended to the petrol Cooper and Cooper S in 2026, priced from £31,285 OTR and £32,335 OTR respectively. Finished in Statement Grey, Inspired White, or Midnight Black, it adds a Nottingham Green contrast roof on the 3-door and 5-door, or a Union Jack soft-top on the Convertible, alongside a striped knitted dashboard and Paul Smith's signature stripe on the steering wheel.

Engine & Performance

The petrol range spans four engines. The entry-level One and Cooper C share a 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, tuned to 121bhp in the One and 154bhp in the Cooper C. The Cooper S steps up to a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine producing 201bhp, while the John Cooper Works tops the range with the same engine tuned to 228bhp. All models use a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, with 0-62mph times ranging from 9.3 seconds in the One down to 6.1 seconds in the John Cooper Works.

The electric Cooper uses a single motor and a choice of two battery sizes. Cooper E has a 40.7kWh battery and a 184bhp motor, giving up to 190 miles of WLTP range and 0-62mph in 7.3 seconds. Cooper SE steps up to a 54.2kWh battery and a 218bhp motor, extending range to up to 250 miles and cutting the 0-62mph time to 6.7 seconds. Both charge on a public rapid charger in around 30 minutes.

Exterior Features

Mini's design team faces an unusual brief: keep the car instantly recognisable as a Mini, while still making each generation feel new. On the current Cooper, that shows most clearly at the front, where circular LED headlights sit either side of an octagonal grille. All chrome trim has been removed in favour of cleaner, unbroken surfaces, and each headlight can be set to one of three customisable light signatures, playing its own welcome and goodbye animation as you approach or leave the car. At the rear, redesigned matrix lights carry Mini's Union Jack-inspired graphic and can be switched between the same light modes.

The overall design is intentionally minimalist: short overhangs, a long wheelbase relative to the car's size, and a silhouette that has barely changed since the original 1959 Mini. Personalisation plays a big part in how the car actually looks on the road. Classic can be specified in Ocean Wave Green or Sunny Side Yellow, Exclusive adds British Racing Green, and Sport offers an optional Chili Red roof with matching bonnet stripes. On the Convertible, the electrically operated soft top opens or closes in 18 seconds, even at speeds of up to 19mph.

Mini doesn't quote a towing capacity for the current Cooper, and no factory tow bar is offered. Availability can vary based on current manufacturer ordering options.

Interior Features

Inside, Mini has done away with almost every physical button. A 24cm circular OLED display combines the instrument cluster and infotainment system, and a toggle bar beneath the screen handles the parking brake, gear selector, and drive mode instead. A heated Vescin steering wheel, wireless smartphone integration, and Mini's Intelligent Personal Assistant come as standard, and seven Mini Experience Modes let drivers switch the cabin lighting, sound, and display themes.

Classic uses cloth upholstery, while Exclusive brings in a dark headliner and a Nightshade Blue interior trim option. Sport adds supportive sport seats and a black-and-red dashboard knit to match its exterior styling, while John Cooper Works goes further with optional Alcantara detailing. Heated front seats, a head-up display, and wireless phone charging come as standard from the Level 1 pack upwards, while Level 3 adds an electrically adjustable driver's seat with memory function.

Storage includes 60:40 split-folding rear seats and a dedicated wireless charging shelf, replacing the space previously taken by a traditional gearstick. The 3-door and Convertible hold 210 litres when the rear seats are up, rising to 725 litres when they're folded flat, while the 5-door offers 275 litres, extending to 925 litres. There's no additional storage under the bonnet.

Safety Features

The petrol Cooper holds a five-star Euro NCAP rating, awarded in September 2025, scoring 83% for adult occupant protection, 82% for child occupant protection, 81% for vulnerable road user protection, and 77% for safety assist systems. The electric Cooper was tested separately and also earned five stars, with stronger results of 89% for adult occupant protection and 87% for child occupant protection, results that saw it named Euro NCAP's Best in Class for Safest City and Supermini in 2025. Automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assistant, blind spot detection, rear collision prevention, and vehicle exit warning are fitted as standard on every trim as part of Mini's Driving Assistant pack. An optional Driving Assistant Plus pack adds adaptive cruise control.

Business Leasing

A Mini Cooper business lease suits company car drivers, directors, and fleet drivers who want something distinctive without the running costs of a larger executive car. The electric Cooper E and Cooper SE bring low Benefit-in-Kind rates, and Mini's three-year, unlimited-mileage warranty adds reassurance over a typical contract term. Fleet leasing with the Cooper suits businesses running multiple vehicles for staff who are regularly out and about, from estate agents and cleaning services to care workers, where a compact, efficient car is more practical than a larger one.

Personal Leasing

A Mini Cooper personal lease is a straightforward way to drive a car with genuine character, without buying it outright. It suits drivers who want a compact car for city and short-distance journeys, and those who want more can step up to the John Cooper Works for a genuine hot hatch experience or the Cooper SE for the lowest running costs in the range. Fixed monthly payments give you certainty over the cost of your lease throughout the agreement.

Mini Cooper lease offers can be built around your annual mileage, contract length, and initial rental, giving you a clear monthly cost for the duration of your agreement.

Mini Cooper Salary Sacrifice

As fully electric models, the Cooper E and Cooper SE may be suitable for salary sacrifice, letting eligible employees lease a new car through their gross salary and reduce their Income Tax and National Insurance contributions. This is only available where an employer already has a scheme in place, and employees will need to meet their employer's eligibility criteria to take part. If your business is looking to introduce or manage a salary sacrifice scheme, Synergy's team can help.
