The Toyota Aygo X replaced the long-running Aygo hatchback in 2022, bringing a more SUV-inspired design. The original Aygo launched in 2005 and became known for its low running costs and compact size. With the Aygo X, Toyota added a higher ride height and more cabin technology, while keeping the small footprint that made the original so popular.
It sits at the entry point of Toyota’s range and is built on the same platform as the Yaris. With a 1.0-litre petrol hybrid engine, the Aygo X continues to be a cost-effective option for personal and business drivers.

Toyota Aygo X leasing is available in the following trim levels:
- Icon: Entry-level trim with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 9-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, manual air conditioning, and Toyota Safety Sense.
- Design: Adds front and rear parking sensors, automatic air conditioning, and two-tone paint options.
- Excel: Includes keyless entry, wireless smartphone charging, LED headlights, rear privacy glass and upgraded interior trim.

The Toyota Aygo X Hybrid uses a 1.5-litre three-cylinder petrol engine paired with an electric motor, producing a combined 114 bhp. It’s front-wheel drive and uses an eCVT automatic gearbox. Acceleration from 0–62mph takes 9.2 seconds, making it quicker than the previous petrol-only version.
WLTP fuel economy is up to 74.3mpg, with CO₂ emissions from 87g/km. The hybrid system includes regenerative braking and supports low-speed electric-only driving in stop-start traffic.
The Aygo X has a strong, upright stance with a bold front grille and slim LED headlights. All models come with 17‑inch alloy wheels, while Excel and GR Sport models feature 18‑inch alloys with sportier designs.
Selected trims offer two‑tone paint with a contrasting roof colour, and GR Sport adds unique exterior detailing for a more distinctive appearance.
Inside the Toyota Aygo X you’ll find a cabin that focuses on functionality and connectivity. A 9‑inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto is standard across the range. The dashboard layout is clear, with straightforward climate controls and easy access to key functions.
As you move up the trims, features like wireless phone charging and a reversing camera are added. Excel and GR Sport models also come with upgraded upholstery and interior trim.
All Aygo X models come with Toyota Safety Sense, which includes lane departure alert, a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, road sign assist and adaptive cruise control. Every version also features stability control, hill start assist and seven airbags.
Design and above include a reversing camera, while Excel adds blind spot monitor and rear cross traffic alert.
