Synergy and Harrogate Town AFC Look Back on a Year of Kick Back Success

Over the last year, our partnership with Harrogate Town AFC has continued to support grassroots football across Harrogate, Leeds, Wetherby and the wider Yorkshire area.

Through our sponsorship of the Kick Back scheme, we’ve helped more local clubs benefit from cashback funding, community activity and special football experiences. For us, this partnership is about supporting the community we’re part of and helping local clubs create opportunities for young players, coaches, volunteers and families.

As a Harrogate-based business, grassroots football is close to many of us at Synergy. Lots of our people are directly involved with local clubs, whether as parents, coaches, volunteers or supporters, so we understand the time and effort that goes into keeping grassroots football running.

It brings people together, gives children a place to play, and supports the volunteers who give their time every week to help young players enjoy the game. That’s why working with Harrogate Town on the Kick Back scheme feels like such a natural fit for us.

During the 2025/26 season, the scheme has continued to grow, with 28 grassroots clubs now involved. Through Synergy Car Leasing’s support, £3,168.40 has been returned to local clubs in cashback, helping them reinvest in their teams, players and wider football communities.

Pannal Ash, Beckwithshaw and Scotton were among the highest earners this season, receiving £531.28, £517.80 and £315.84 respectively. Every amount returned through the scheme helps clubs continue the work they do at grassroots level, whether that’s supporting training, events, equipment or the everyday running of their teams.

The Kick Back scheme has also gained national recognition, with the initiative nominated for Grassroots Initiative of the Year at the Global Football Industry Awards, held in association with The Daily Telegraph. It’s a strong reflection of the difference the scheme is making and the value of investing in local football.

For Synergy, the real success is seen in the feedback from the clubs involved. Grassroots teams have spoken about the welcoming, family-friendly nature of Harrogate Town and the positive impact the scheme has had on their players and families.

Looking ahead, we’re pleased to continue supporting Harrogate Town and the Kick Back scheme as it builds on this success. As more clubs get involved, we look forward to seeing more young players enjoy memorable football experiences, more funding returned to grassroots teams, and more local communities brought together.
