2026 is Synergy’s 20th anniversary, and a lot has changed since we started in 2006. Electric cars are more popular than ever, helped by government incentives and growing manufacturer support through discounts and lease offers.

At the same time, leasing itself has evolved. Salary sacrifice schemes allow employees to lease a car through their employer with tax benefits and have made newer electric vehicles more accessible. More recently, used car leasing has become an affordable option

Despite these changes, our focus has stayed the same: putting our customers first. Whether someone is leasing their first electric car, managing a fleet, or exploring a salary sacrifice scheme, we’ve worked to provide support and guidance every step of the way.

As we reach this milestone, we’re looking back at the key moments that have shaped Synergy over the past 20 years.

2006 - Synergy is Founded

Synergy Car Leasing is founded with a clear vision, to deliver an excellent leasing experience to all our clients. From the start, we wanted to make car leasing simpler, more transparent, and genuinely customer-focused. The business is built on long-term relationships rather than short-term transactions, and that still holds true today.

2008 - 2010 - Staying Focused Through Uncertainty

During a challenging period for the wider economy, Synergy keeps its focus on doing the right thing for its customers. While many businesses scaled back, we remained committed to providing a reliable, personal service. These years helped shape the values and culture that continue to guide us today.

2012 - Expanding Our Offering

As the business grows, Synergy strengthens its relationships with manufacturers and funders, offering more vehicle choice and flexible leasing options for both personal and business customers. Industry recognition begins to follow, supported by positive customer feedback and a growing reputation for service and reliability.

2015 - Investing in the Customer Experience

Synergy makes key investments in digital systems to improve how customers browse, quote and order. A new website is introduced helping to deliver faster, clearer information at every stage of the leasing process. The business also moves to new premises at Hornbeam Park, Harrogate to support its continued growth.

2018 - Supporting the Move to Electric

With more drivers exploring lower-emission options, Synergy expands its electric and hybrid vehicle range. Our team is trained to provide clear, practical support on everything from charging to running costs and helping customers make informed decisions at a time of rapid change in the market.

2024 - Feefo 10 Years of Excellence Award

In 2024, Synergy receives the Feefo 10 Years of Excellence Award which recognises a full decade of consistent, verified five-star customer feedback. It’s a rare achievement and a moment that reflects our long-standing focus on delivering a best-in-class customer experience. It also shows that the principles we started with remain just as relevant today.
