It’s based on the same platform as the 208, but brings a raised ride height, more space and SUV styling. The 2008 sits between the smaller 208 hatchback and the larger 3008 SUV, offering a practical balance of compact size and everyday usability.
The current generation was introduced in 2019 and received a refresh in 2023, with updated styling, improved tech and the introduction of a self-charging hybrid to sit alongside the efficient petrol and fully electric E-2008 versions.

The Peugeot 2008 petrol model uses a 1.2-litre engine producing 131bhp. It’s available with either a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic gearbox and offers smooth performance with a 0–62 mph time of around 9.4 seconds.
The new mild-hybrid version pairs the same 1.2-litre engine with a 48V electric motor integrated into a dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Power increases slightly to 136bhp, and it can switch to electric-only power at low speeds to improve fuel economy and reduce emissions. It returns up to 62.1mpg and emits as little as 102 g/km of CO₂, making it a cost-effective option.
The fully electric E-2008 delivers 156bhp from a front-mounted motor, powered by a 54 kWh battery. It accelerates from 0–62 mph in 9.1 seconds and offers a WLTP-tested range of up to 247 miles. It supports DC fast charging at up to 100 kW, meaning a 10 to 80 percent top-up takes just 30 minutes. For home charging, a 7 kW wallbox will recharge the battery in around 7.5 hours.
The Peugeot 2008 stands out with sharp, modern styling and a distinctive lighting signature. Its bold front grille and vertical LED daytime running lights give it a confident look. The updated design includes full LED rear lights with Peugeot’s signature claw effect and a refreshed front bumper for a more assertive presence.
All models come with alloy wheels, with 17-inch designs standard on Allure and upgraded 18-inch diamond-cut versions on GT Premium. Gloss black wheel arches and door mirrors add a sportier feel on GT and GT Premium trims. Roof rails are fitted as standard, adding extra practicality for drivers needing more storage options.
The E-2008 version shares the same body as the petrol and hybrid models but includes subtle electric badging and colour accents that distinguish it from the rest of the range.
Inside the Peugeot 2008, you’ll find a high-quality cabin that blends smart design with practical touches. All models feature Peugeot’s compact steering wheel and 3D i-Cockpit digital display, which sits above the wheel for a more focused driving experience.
