It helped establish Polestar as a standalone electric performance brand. It sits alongside newer models like the Polestar 3 and 4 while remaining the brand’s compact electric fastback.

Polestar 2 leasing is available with two main battery and powertrain options:
- Standard Range Single Motor - The entry-level Polestar 2. Features a rear-wheel drive electric powertrain producing 272bhp, a 70kWh battery, up to 339 miles of WLTP range, Google built-in infotainment, adaptive cruise control and LED lighting.
- Long Range Single Motor - Power increases to 299bhp, while the larger 82kWh battery delivers up to 409 miles of WLTP range, making it the longest-range Polestar 2 available.
- Long Range Dual Motor - Adds a second electric motor and all-wheel drive. Producing up to 421bhp, it accelerates from 0-62mph in as little as 4.5 seconds while offering up to 368 miles of WLTP range.
The Polestar 2 is fully electric. All versions use an automatic transmission, with single motor models using rear-wheel drive and the dual motor model adding all-wheel drive.
The Standard Range Single Motor uses a 70kWh battery and produces 272bhp. It can travel up to 344 miles WLTP and accelerates from 0-62mph in 6.4 seconds, making it a strong choice for everyday commuting and mixed driving.
The Long Range Single Motor increases power to 299bhp and uses a larger 82kWh battery. It offers the longest range in the line-up, with up to 409 miles WLTP, so it’s well suited to business drivers and personal lease customers who cover regular motorway miles.
The Long Range Dual Motor is the quickest core model, producing 421bhp with all-wheel drive. It reaches 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds and has a WLTP range of up to 370 miles.
The Polestar 2 combines a sleek fastback silhouette with minimalist Scandinavian design. Its low roofline and hatchback-style tailgate give it a distinctive appearance while maintaining the practicality expected from a family car.
Across the range, Polestar 2 leasing includes 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights with active high beam functionality, LED daytime running lights and a full-width rear light signature. Heated and electrically folding door mirrors come as standard, alongside flush exterior detailing that contributes to the car's clean, modern look.
The Polestar 2 has a minimalist cabin with a premium, uncluttered feel. Standard equipment includes dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel and electrically adjustable front seats, giving the driver and front passenger a comfortable setup for everyday journeys.

Standard technology includes adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, lane keeping aid, road sign information, driver alert control, oncoming lane mitigation and collision avoidance support for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
Every Polestar 2 also includes a rear-view camera with park assist sensors, 12 sensors around the car and a protective safety structure that includes a boron steel safety cage, eight airbags, whiplash injury protection and ISOFIX mounting points. The optional Pilot pack adds features such as Pilot Assist, blind spot information with steer assist, cross traffic alert with brake support, emergency stop assist and a 360-degree camera.
