JAGUAR E-PACE
New Jaguar E-Pace SUV follows in the footsteps of its hugely successful bigger sibling – the F-Pace.
When the Jaguar F-Pace launched in 2016, it pretty quickly became Jaguar’s most popular product – such is the demand for SUVs in the current market. A year down the road, and Jaguar was presenting another SUV to the world – the E-Pace.
A compact SUV, the E-Pace is the smallest car in the Jaguar family but shares many design cues with other models in the Jaguar range, especially the famous F-Type sports car. The upper side profile of the E-Pace is almost entirely F-Type in form, which is far from being a bad thing as the sports car is certainly one of the most beautiful designs of the last decade.
That sports car styling transfers well to the compact SUV proportions found on the E-Pace, but Jaguar didn’t sit back and let the looks do all the seducing. The E-Pace has benefitted from Jaguar’s ability to engineer dynamically impressive cars, insuring that the new SUV can drive as well as it looks.
The E-Pace is available either as a fuel-friendly front-wheel drive model, or with all-wheel drive. The latter undoubtedly provides an improved driving experience and better levels of grip in poor conditions but gives slightly inferior economy figures. Front-wheel drive is certainly a better choice for Synergy customers who will spend more time driving in an urban environment.
In terms of the powertrain, there’s a choice between petrol and diesel sources. Both engines are 2.0-litre ‘Ingenium’ units available in differing states of tune. The Ingenium’s are Jaguar’s new generation of engines, the result of a £500m investment to deliver powerful and efficient new engines from the brand. They can be paired with the excellent 8-speed automatic for the smoothest possible ride, a gearbox that certainly adds to the overall Jaguar luxury experience.
Inside the new E-Pace there’s a strong selection of toys and gadgets from the Jaguar range and there is also a few optional extras you can add on to your model too. On the sporty-styled ‘R-Dynamic’ model, you’ll find Lane Keeping Assist, rear-view camera, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth, and other features you’d expect to find in a luxury vehicle.
As a new exciting product from Jaguar, the E-Pace has been a popular source of enquires here at Synergy. Fun to drive, well equipped, and very stylish, this is going to remain a popular vehicle for quite some time.
