It received its first major update in 2020, bringing revised styling, new trim options and mild-hybrid technology to selected models. The latest 2025 update gives the Stonic a much sharper look, with refreshed exterior styling, a redesigned cabin and improved onboard technology.
Today, the Stonic remains one of Kia’s most accessible SUV and crossover models, sitting alongside the Niro, Sportage, and newer electric models such as the EV3.

Kia Stonic leasing is available in three trim levels:
- Pure: Entry-level trim with 16-inch alloy wheels, automatic headlights, 12.3-inch touchscreen navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, rear camera, parking sensors and core driver assistance systems.
- GT-Line: Adds a sportier look with 17-inch alloy wheels, GT-Line exterior styling, LED headlights, privacy glass, automatic air conditioning, artificial leather seat trim and blind-spot collision avoidance.
- GT-Line S: Top-spec trim adding a sunroof, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, smart entry, wireless phone charging, 12.3-inch driver display, Digital Key and smart cruise control.
The Kia Stonic is available with a 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol engine in Pure trim, producing 98bhp and 172Nm of torque. This model uses a 6-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive, offering simple, efficient performance for everyday driving.
GT-Line and GT-Line S models use a 1.0-litre T-GDi petrol mild-hybrid engine, increasing output to 113bhp. GT-Line is available with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox, while GT-Line S comes with the automatic transmission as standard. Depending on specification, the Stonic can return up to 51.3mpg, with CO2 emissions from 125g/km.
The Kia Stonic has a sharper exterior design following its 2025 facelift, giving this small SUV a more modern look. The updated front end features Kia’s latest styling approach, with a revised grille and slimmer lighting, helping it feel more in line with newer models in the Kia range.
