MAZDA 6 CAR LEASING
Though the Mazda 6 is possibly the best-looking car in its category, there’s much more than good looks to admire about it.
Almost silently, Mazda has sneaked up on established luxury automakers to begin producing cars that can be considered legitimate rivals - one of those cars is the Mazda 6. The 6 is a car that comes in saloon or estate body styles and from a pricing perspective it rivals the likes of the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia. However, from a quality point of view, the 6 is far closer to luxury German brands.
Though it isn’t rear-wheel driven or available with powerful 6-cylinder engines like a BMW 3-series or Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the Mazda 6 really offers a level of quality close to those cars - impressive for a brand traditionally considered sub-premium. In 2018, the 6 received a facelift to enhance its appeal yet further.
As normal in a car of this size, there’s a choice between petrol and diesel power. Mazda’s powerful 2.2-litre 4-cylinder diesel gives 181bhp - more than enough for overtaking and enjoyable performance – but also pushes out just 124g/km of CO2, while promising a combined cycle fuel return of 50mpg+. If you prefer petrol power, 2.0-litre or 2.5-litre 4-cylinder units are offered, with outputs of 146 and 191bhp respectively. Aside from the 2.5-litre petrol, all engines come with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, typically Mazda in feel with a short weighty throw to their feel. An automatic gearbox is offered as a cost option, but on the top-spec 2.5-litre engine it comes as standard.
There are 4 trim levels of the Mazda 6 offered and a very limited list of options. Mazda, like most Japanese car manufactures, prefers customers to choose the trim level that suits them the best rather than add many options. As standard, all Mazda 6 models are very well equipped – an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, Bluetooth and DAB digital radio takes the centre of the stage in the minimalist interior, while a heads-up display appears almost magically in the windscreen when you begin driving. Cruise and climate control and keyless entry are also standard on all models, giving every car a very high specification.
With its huge quality and generous equipment levels, the Mazda 6 is a really impressive car that would make for a great substitute for Synergy customers looking to try an alternative to established big names.
