MG HS Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The MG HS is the largest SUV in MG’s current UK range, sitting above the smaller MG ZS. The second-generation model arrived in 2024 and measures around 4.7 metres long, putting it in the same family SUV class as the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson and VW Tiguan. Its spacious five-seat cabin, 507-litre boot and generous equipment levels make it particularly attractive to families and company car drivers.
MG has since expanded the HS range beyond the original petrol and plug-in hybrid models. The Hybrid+ adds a full-hybrid alternative that doesn’t need plugging in, while the plug-in hybrid combines a 24.7kWh battery with up to 75 miles of electric driving. This gives MG HS business lease and MG HS personal lease customers a useful choice depending on their mileage, access to charging and preference for electrified driving.
- Body Type: SUV
- Fuel Type: Petrol, full hybrid and plug-in hybrid
- Electric Range: Up to 75 miles WLTP (plug-in hybrid)

Engine & Performance
The MG HS is available with petrol, Hybrid+ and plug-in hybrid powertrains. All use a 1.5-litre petrol engine, although their performance and efficiency differ significantly.
The standard petrol model produces 169bhp and 275Nm of torque. A six-speed manual reaches 0-62mph in 9.4 seconds and returns up to 38.1mpg WLTP, while the seven-speed DCT automatic takes 9.6 seconds and returns up to 37.1mpg.
Hybrid+ combines a 142bhp petrol engine with a 198bhp electric motor and 1.8kWh battery, producing 224bhp and 340Nm overall. It uses a two-speed automatic transmission, reaches 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and returns up to 51.3mpg, while emitting 126g/km of CO2.
The Plug-in Hybrid is the quickest and most powerful HS. Its 142bhp petrol engine works alongside a 209bhp electric motor and 24.7kWh battery to produce 299bhp and 350Nm, giving a 0-62mph time of 6.8 seconds. It can travel up to 75 miles on electric power (WLTP).
Exterior Features
The MG HS has a wide front grille, slim LED headlights and a sculpted bonnet, giving it a clean and substantial SUV appearance. Silver roof rails are fitted across the range, while all models also get LED daytime running lights, LED rear lights and 19-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels.
At the rear, a full-width LED light bar runs across the tailgate, joined by a roof spoiler and contrasting lower bumper details. Plug-in hybrid models also feature side steps, while Trophy versions add front parking sensors and electrically folding heated door mirrors.
Exterior colours include Arctic White, Black Pearl, Hampstead Grey, Monument Silver and Dynamic Red. Metallic and tri-coat finishes are available at extra cost, while Trophy models can also be specified with a tan interior.
Interior Features
Inside, the MG HS uses a straightforward dashboard layout built around two 12.3-inch screens, one for the driver display and one for infotainment. SE models come with black cloth upholstery and a six-way electrically adjustable driver’s seat, while rear passengers get a 60:40 split-folding bench and plenty of head and legroom.
Trophy adds black leather-style upholstery, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control and an electrically adjustable passenger seat. The driver’s seat also gains lumbar adjustment, memory and an easy-access function. A tan leather-style interior is available as a £500 option on Trophy models, while the cabin also includes a front centre armrest with storage and rear privacy glass.
Safety Features
The MG HS comes with a broad range of MG Pilot driver assistance systems as standard. These include active emergency braking with pedestrian and bicycle detection, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, forward collision warning, blind spot detection, lane change assist, driver attention alert and speed limit assistance.
Automatic petrol models, Hybrid+ and Plug-in Hybrid versions also include adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist, helping the car maintain its speed and distance from traffic ahead in suitable conditions. Trophy models add front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera to support low-speed manoeuvring and parking.

Why Choose an MG HS Lease with Synergy?
The MG HS range covers several different leasing requirements, from an affordable petrol family SUV to more efficient Hybrid+ and Plug-in Hybrid models. Our team can explain the differences between each version and build your MG HS lease around the mileage, contract term and initial rental that work for you.
You’ll have a dedicated account manager who oversees your lease and provides a consistent point of contact, so you know who to speak to if you have a question or need an update. Free UK mainland delivery is included, and optional maintenance can be added to cover scheduled servicing, routine maintenance and replacement tyres.
Our customer experience has received independent industry recognition. Synergy received the Feefo Platinum Trusted Service Award 2026 and was named Broker of the Year at the Broker News Awards in 2024 and 2025.
Business Leasing
The range of powertrains gives businesses more flexibility when choosing an MG HS business lease. Petrol models can suit drivers who want a conventional SUV, while Hybrid+ reduces official fuel consumption without requiring workplace or home charging. The Plug-in Hybrid is particularly relevant to company car drivers thanks to its 12g/km CO2 figure and 75-mile WLTP electric range.
The HS can also form part of a fleet leasing arrangement. Its five-seat SUV layout, SE and Trophy trim choices and three powertrain options allow businesses to accommodate different roles, journey patterns and driver preferences within the same model range.
Personal Leasing
MG HS personal leasing offers access to a new SUV for fixed monthly rentals without taking on ownership or having to sell the car later. You choose your annual mileage, contract length and initial rental at the start, then return the HS when the agreement ends, subject to mileage and fair wear and tear conditions.
For private customers, the HS is particularly suited to those who prioritise space and equipment for their monthly budget. There’s seating for five, a large luggage area and twin 12.3-inch displays as standard, while the choice of three powertrains means you can select the version that best matches how you drive.
MG HS Salary Sacrifice
The MG HS Plug-in Hybrid can be considered for salary sacrifice thanks to its low official CO2 emissions of 12g/km and 75-mile WLTP electric range. For eligible employees, salary sacrifice provides a way to fund a new car from gross salary and can offer tax advantages compared with taking the equivalent amount as salary.
Availability depends on your employer operating a salary sacrifice scheme and on meeting its eligibility criteria. We can also work with businesses that want to introduce or manage a salary sacrifice scheme for their employees.

Looking for Something Similar?
If you're considering an MG HS lease, here are some other mid-size SUVs to check out:
- Kia Sportage: Offers similar space and hybrid tech, but with a more premium interior and wider choice of powertrains. It's a good option if you're looking for extra refinement and brand familiarity at a slightly higher monthly cost.
- Nissan Qashqai: Often seen as the benchmark in this class, the Qashqai has a more polished feel and sharper infotainment but comes at a higher lease price. It’s worth considering if you're after a more established badge and advanced driver aids.
- Hyundai Tucson: More distinctive in design and packed with tech, the Tucson has a broader hybrid range than the MG HS and a more upmarket cabin. It's a strong contender if design and equipment are top priorities.
