Engine & Performance

The Scenic E-Tech uses a single electric motor and one 87kWh battery across all three trims, driving the front wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission. The motor produces 220bhp and 300Nm of torque, giving 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of around 105mph. One Pedal driving comes as standard, using stronger regenerative braking to slow the car when the accelerator is released, and paddle shifters on the steering wheel let the driver adjust the strength of that braking manually.

WLTP range varies by wheel size rather than power, from up to 381 miles on Techno's 19-inch wheels down to 373 miles on Techno Esprit Alpine and 370 miles on Iconic Esprit Alpine, both on 20-inch wheels. Charging tops out at 11kW on a home or public AC point and up to 150kW on a DC rapid charger, adding a 15-80% charge in around 37 minutes. The Scenic E-Tech also has a maximum braked towing capacity of 1,100kg.

Exterior Features

Renault used the Scenic E-Tech to launch a new design language now shared across the range, including the Austral and Rafale. At the front, the Nouvel'R logo sits within a pattern of small superimposed diamonds that stretch out towards slimline LED headlights with dynamic lighting, which moves and flows as the car is approached and unlocked. three trims, and door handles sit flush with the bodywork to smooth airflow.

The overall shape trades the previous Scenic's tall MPV profile for a lower, more angular SUV silhouette, with a flat floor and a 2,785mm wheelbase that pushes the wheels towards the corners for extra cabin space. Six body colours are available: Flame Red, Midnight Blue, Diamond Black, Shadow Grey, Arctic White, and a matte Shadow Grey finish exclusive to the two Esprit Alpine trims. The bonnet and doors are made from up to 80% recycled aluminium.

Interior Features

Inside, you’ll find a 12.3-inch driver display with a 12-inch OpenR link touchscreen running Google built-in, alongside wireless smartphone integration and a wireless phone charger as standard. A heated steering wheel and Face ID, which automatically selects the driver's profile and seat position, are also standard across the range. Multisense lets the driver switch between driving modes while also changing the cabin's ambient lighting, which offers 48 colours.

Techno uses fabric seat upholstery made from 100% recycled material and a soft fabric upper dashboard. Techno Esprit Alpine adds sports seats with six-way electric adjustment, two-way lumbar support, and a massage function for the driver, alongside an Alpine steering wheel and blue detailing across the carpet, door inserts, and storage compartments. Iconic Esprit Alpine carries over the same Esprit Alpine seats and blue detailing, but upgrades to a soft fabric dashboard with real wood inserts and lighter recycled fabric seats with titanium stitching.

Storage includes an ingenious rear armrest with two USB-C ports, cup holders, and a smartphone or tablet holder for each rear passenger, plus a flap that lets long items such as skis pass through from the boot. The boot holds 545 litres with the rear seats up, rising to 1,670 litres when the 40:20:40 split rear bench is folded down. There's no additional storage under the bonnet.

Safety Features

The Scenic E-Tech achieved a five-star Euro NCAP rating when tested in May 2024. Every trim comes with a full suite of airbags, automatic emergency braking with vulnerable road user detection, and rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking as standard. Emergency lane keeping assist, blind spot warning, driver attention monitoring, and a safe exit warning that checks for approaching traffic before a door is opened are also fitted across the range, along with ISOFIX child seat points on the rear outer seats.
