Ssangyong Tivoli Business & Personal Car Leasing Offers
The Ssangyong Tivoli is a stylish and affordable compact SUV with the potential to surprise.
South Korean manufacturer Ssangyong is one of those brands to keep an eye on. Other brands from Korea such as Hyundai and Kia have had great success here in the UK in recent years and while Ssangyong is a much smaller company, it is slowly building more and more of a presence here in the UK.
Any modern manufacturer seems to require a compact SUV to have a presence in the market, so Ssangyong launched its Tivoli a few years ago now in a bid to draw some attention to the brand, and it worked. The Tivoli has the looks, the equipment and the attractive pricing to appeal to anyone in the market for one of these cars and it perhaps unwise to overlook it completely.
The Tivoli is a front-wheel drive car intended to be used as comfortable family transport, so this is not an off-roader. 2 engines are available to choose from, both 1.6-litres in size with 4-cylinders and turbocharging with the choice of either petrol or diesel fuel sources. For transmissions, a 6-speed manual is supplied as standard, though a 6-speed automatic is available as a cost option. Neither engine really gives the Tivoli a sporty feel as this is primarily designed to simply be a relaxing ride, so 0-62mph takes around 12-seconds in both models, with the diesel unit providing 113bhp and the petrol 126.
Standard equipment and specifications are where Ssangyong really stands out from the crowd, offering generous levels of equipment regardless of the trim level. Entry level ‘SE’ features keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, and even autonomous emergency braking. In top-spec ‘Ultimate’ trim there are even some real luxuries like heated leather seats, along with other equipment like automatic lights and wipers, dual-zone climate control, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with DAB and smartphone integration and an advanced safety package including lane-keeping assistance and departure warning and traffic sign recognition.
While Ssangyong might not be the first name that springs to mind when considering a new car, the Tivoli compact SUV is a very attractive proposition and well worthy of consideration alongside vehicles such as the Nissan Juke and Ford Ecosport.
